Hello, I've just got my Milltek cat replacement pipes through the GB and will be getting them fitted next week. Could someone be so kind as to have a look on ETKA for me and see if any gasket / seal is required for the flanged connections just ahead of the secondary cats?

I didnt think my mk5 gti would stay standard for long but i never thought i'd have had so much done in so little time, My milltek has bedded itself in very nicely now and the growl has begin to show through after almost 600 miles. I ordered an ECS dogbone mount which i picked up from the post sorting office today and fitted as soon as i was home. it's been said before somewhere but this is how they should be from VW, much better gear change, feels less sloppy under braking (well, engine braking) and the power onto the tarmac off roundabouts has been improved too, if you aint done this yet.... do it! for �35 you'd be daft not to.

I then had an urge to go and get my car on a rolling road so i phoned Dave at PDTuning and booked myself in for a test run. was pleased to see an average of 205 BHP which would have been due to the milltek non res C/B system and the K&N panel filter........ but that wasnt enough:rolleyes:
so i asked Dave to fit one of his own custom remaps, these are tried and tested on all manner of 2.0l TFSI engined cars and i'm very very happy with the results

262 BHP and 340ft/lb of torque:rock:

the drive home was within usual traffic but the pulling power in 5th and 6th is sublime.

I had planned on having the car revo'd but to be honest i'd had it in my head that 250 brake would be enough for me.

Going out to give the car it's final mod of the day...... a VAGOC sticker then out for a drive later when the roads have quietened down

Very happy with my remap (especially at the �299 price tag including the before and after power runs:cool:) and i'd highly reccomend Dave at PDTuning to anyone looking to have their car sorted out.

So whats next on my agenda........ it'll have to be Wheels, W.A.L.K kit, Springs and then ICE. in that order

Loving my GTI to bits, much better than my old A4:love:

Hey guys, heard a lot of good things about this site. Been with the seatcupra.net site for a few years now and thought i would join.
I currently drive a 58 plate emocion red leon fr tdi mk2. The car was the first scottish guinea pig for the Custom Code dpf delete stage 2.
The car is currently running on an aggresively tweaked map at 240.6 bhp and 432 ft lbs of torque.
Hopefully there will be some fellow ayrshire peeps on here also! And maybe get a few meets on the go.

Recently l havve been hearing a noise whilst turning to the left at low speeds. Wouldnt say its been on full left turn lock but it sounds somewhat like creaking or burpyling coming just in front of the driver position. Doesnt affect the feel, just noise. Any ideas before l going see the numpties at the dealers?

About 175HP at the wheels.
The other half has a E320CDI Merc, but my pocketmoney only stretches to a Seat!

HELP PLEASE Lowering Spring Noises Coming From Car.

As above over the last two week every corner of the car seems to be making bonging/twanging noises coming from the springs but only seems to do it at parking speeds or sometimes if you hit a bump in road. Can hear it all the way through the car inside when it does it on each corner.

Any ideas? as I rung Stattlers who said its normal & does it on there car. But why doesnt it do it on my mates cars with the same H & Rsprings on the same car & why would it only happen within the last two week?

And another TTRS REVO with real performace figures listed.

ok some people say 50k on a TT is daft

or I get "gay hairdressers car" all the time.

Well I have had quite a few mid range sports car and only got the TTRS on a wim and infact was not that pleased with it 100% after owning a BMW CSL and a tuned Porsche Cayman the RS felt....well poor, no not poor that's to harsh as I did like it, just not good enough and sports mode was unusable.

But how time and cash can change a few things .

1st off I was supriseed how the RS was bigged up on the forum, full torque from 1600rpm smooth etc etc.

Well I thought the standard map was ****, I thought it was a fault, but no the standrad TTRS map is lacking in so many ways and has many dead areas it was great on WOT though but you cannot drive like that lol.

I have spent cira 2k but I think it's worth it and any TTS owner wanting to upgrade is going to love it if they do the same.

Any way I have a GPS meter, the same as EVO use to test the cars for the mag here are my STANDARD 3rd gear rolling times.

40-60 - 2.2 seconds
50-70 - 2.39 seconds
60-80 - 2.58 seconds

Now I have had fitted the 2nd decat pipes a new pannel filter and the REVO map.

Tuned 3rd gear times all run the same as before
40-60 - 1.82 seconds
50-70 - 1.84 seconds
60-80 - 1.99 seconds

massive gains

as a note here are EVO R8 v10 roll on 3rd gear times
40-60 - 2.3 seconds
50-70 - 2.3 seconds
60-80 - 2.3seconds

and here are the mighty GTR 3rd gear times

40-60 - 2.1 seconds
50-70 - 2.1 seconds
60-80 - 2.1 seconds

so all in all is a RS worth the upgrade over a TTS, well if you want 120k performace for 45k then yes

here are my 4th gear times standard.
60-80 - 3.22
70-90 - 3.43
80-100 - 3.64

tuned
60-80 - 2.56
70-90 - 2.71
80-100 - 2.92

the tuned car is just so much faster.

I don't need any more performance and will NOT be having any more tuning work for speed.
I only might get a intercooler next spring ready for the hotter weather.

I did also today have the H&R ABR's fitted as of yet I have not been able to test but 1st feel on the round abouts is much better controll and less understeer.

I also might fix the performance Haldex in the spring aswell, but I will wait and see how I get on.

I will not be buying a race exhaust system, I think the money is better spent on PSS10's and a few beers

but I might buy a light set of 18" rims and a set of R1R semi track tyres in the spring with the other mods planned.

I had REVO btw and the guys at the TT shop looked after me, the new place is very nice, and the 1st time I have been, it was a long time ago I had a tuned Mk1 TT and visited them.

on a side note traffic was very bad on the way home so a steady run home got 36.8 mpg which was great and remember this is a low tax band car so a cheap car to run day to day for the performance.

On another note which was an amazing bit of luck, I came acorss a GTR giving it beans and I just stayed a bit behind him, but we hit a duel carraige way and he floored it and pulled over and slowed, he waited till I got level and he floored it again, the funny thing was I edged ahead lol, then it was all over as a it was only a short bit of carrage way, but I bet he had a shock

My mate owes a GTR so I will post a vid of a real TTRS v GTR some time soon, I still think he will edge away, but will be intersting.

if you look at GT3 times or normal R8 times then they would be left for dead.

So a fun day all in all

A3 8l Restyling headlights

Hello all,

I know that most of you are far more lucky then me, just because all your sweet rides are much "younger" then my A3 8L, but since most of you actually know your stuff I have a question for the experts.

My 8L is pre-restyling (1997), and since I had a small crash and busted a headlight I decided to change them for the restyling ones. I know all the steps to change them, my only issue is that so far it's been kinda hard to get the restyling ones at a decent price. The only ones I can find are for a Left Hand Drive car. I know that most of the cars, have diferent headlights depending if they are RHD or LHD.
Does anyone know if the restyling ones have this diference as well? and if they do, is there any way to work around this, since I'm considering installing a after-market Xenon lights?

I have this theory that it is designed to stop/minimise the dreaded 'disc warp'...something I have with my TT-RS Roadster after 2 trackdays.

The interesting thing though is that on my 2nd trackday it started off with the 'disc warp' issue causing terrible vibration when braking however that progressively got better (less vibration) during the day long trackday in temps of 22 Deg plus.

Am currently going to try more aggressive pads - wanted CL RC6e however that is not yet availabe for the TT-RS nor is the RC5+ am told when I enquired - so am going for Pagid RS4-2.

So I have this theory that the 'Floating Disc' which the TT-RS have as STD aids to minimise/stop vibration, am I right?

Afternoon, right my steering wheel turned up this morning guys! Well chuffed with it, it's the plain leather one, ie non perforated, I'll need to buy an S3 badge for it as it's plain. My questions are, will I need a new controller? ( I have cruise to fit at the same time) will the loom be the same etc, are they easy to install/code my car is an 07 S3 currently having the basic steering wheel, non MF. I also have VAGCOM

Cherished Number plate help

Looking for a bit of advice or help.

My car prior to the S3 had my cherished number plate and during the sale I agreed with the buyer that we would transfer the plate onto my S3 once it arrived at the dealers. During the sale we signed an agreement that I would retain ownership of the plate even though it went with the car. I had a gap of around 4 months prior to selling my old car and getting the S3 and didnt want to register my car on the private plate. In hindsight I now know this was a big mistake.

I have had the car for over a year now and would like to transfer my plate but the owner of my old car has changed his number and also left his work so I have no way of contacting him.

Is there anyway of tracking him or am I screwed? The DVLA don't seem to be of any help

I am 22 and currently own a candy white leon cupra k1!
Its current mods are: BBS CH Alloys, mtec blbs all round, Eibach Sportlines and revo stage 1 map. Was rr'd at 307bhp.

Will get pics up as soon as i can. Just put it off the road for some good modifications over winter.

Decked has gone and hurt himself

I was expecting him to post about it here, but Decked has had a little accident whilst on his push bike. I did warn him about the removal of the stabilizers but he felt he was a big boy now.

Not sure of the facts as yet, but he was hurtling at some speed and came off. He has apparently fractured a bone which I think he said was part of his elbow. Currently he is in a bit of pain and cant drive, about 6-8 weeks the doctors have said.

He has hurt his right arm which means he is ******ed as he is right handed.

Sure you will all wish him well in his recovery and maybe next time he will listen to me ;-)

Have been looking to change my wheels for a long time now, did think about changing the colour of my anthracite BBS CK's but decided against it. (they are now up forsale)
Wanted something that would be in keeping with the rest of the black and white theme I have on the car. Finally ended up going with the Rotiform BLQ's in gloss black, at first i was a little worried but I am pleased with the results.
The pictures dont really do the wheel justice with them been black as its hard to bring out the detail in the spokes.

They are Rotiform BLQ 19x8.5 ET45
