Any one up for that???

With the S256 from Bulls-eye, you can make 450hp easily with a remap. @1,2bar at 7000rpm, the car makes 445-455 hp/650+nm @1,5 bar were pushing the 540 mark...

All you need is a tubular manifold and the turbo+minor mods to the tubing... It will run a lot colder than with the OEM turbo @1,2 bar...

I'll bet someone would make the bolt-on kit for aorund 2700-3000£ if 5+ people are on it.

So its cheap HP gains witout pushing the engine ablove normal pressure. It just keeps going above the normal limiter.

I'm told it's quite different to the TTS and S3 (though as I've never dablled with vagcom thic ould be a load of b/s)

I had a couple of settings configured when I bought the car... local dealer has reset them back to standard and I'm keen to apply them again. My dealer doesn't know where to find the settings i'm after.

Need to set up DRL so rear lights are on when front DRLs are on

Need to remove the convenience window function

Can anyone advise howso I can relay to my dealer... they can then sort it whilst they fix the wheel they curbed :banghead:

ok some people say 50k on a TT is daft

or I get "gay hairdressers car" all the time.

Well I have had quite a few mid range sports car and only got the TTRS on a wim and infact was not that pleased with it 100% after owning a BMW CSL and a tuned Porsche Cayman the RS felt....well poor, no not poor that's to harsh as I did like it, just not good enough and sports mode was unusable.

But how time and cash can change a few things .

1st off I was supriseed how the RS was bigged up on the forum, full torque from 1600rpm smooth etc etc.

Well I thought the standard map was ****, I thought it was a fault, but no the standrad TTRS map is lacking in so many ways and has many dead areas it was great on WOT though but you cannot drive like that lol.

I have spent cira 2k but I think it's worth it and any TTS owner wanting to upgrade is going to love it if they do the same.

Any way I have a GPS meter, the same as EVO use to test the cars for the mag here are my STANDARD 3rd gear rolling times.

40-60 - 2.2 seconds
50-70 - 2.39 seconds
60-80 - 2.58 seconds

Now I have had fitted the 2nd decat pipes a new pannel filter and the REVO map.

Tuned 3rd gear times all run the same as before
40-60 - 1.82 seconds
50-70 - 1.84 seconds
60-80 - 1.99 seconds

massive gains

as a note here are EVO R8 v10 roll on 3rd gear times
40-60 - 2.3 seconds
50-70 - 2.3 seconds
60-80 - 2.3seconds

and here are the mighty GTR 3rd gear times

40-60 - 2.1 seconds
50-70 - 2.1 seconds
60-80 - 2.1 seconds

so all in all is a RS worth the upgrade over a TTS, well if you want 120k performace for 45k then yes

here are my 4th gear times standard.
60-80 - 3.22
70-90 - 3.43
80-100 - 3.64

tuned
60-80 - 2.56
70-90 - 2.71
80-100 - 2.92

the tuned car is just so much faster.

I don't need any more performance and will NOT be having any more tuning work for speed.
I only might get a intercooler next spring ready for the hotter weather.

I did also today have the H&R ABR's fitted as of yet I have not been able to test but 1st feel on the round abouts is much better controll and less understeer.

I also might fix the performance Haldex in the spring aswell, but I will wait and see how I get on.

I will not be buying a race exhaust system, I think the money is better spent on PSS10's and a few beers

but I might buy a light set of 18" rims and a set of R1R semi track tyres in the spring with the other mods planned.

I had REVO btw and the guys at the TT shop looked after me, the new place is very nice, and the 1st time I have been, it was a long time ago I had a tuned Mk1 TT and visited them.

on a side note traffic was very bad on the way home so a steady run home got 36.8 mpg which was great and remember this is a low tax band car so a cheap car to run day to day for the performance.

On another note which was an amazing bit of luck, I came acorss a GTR giving it beans and I just stayed a bit behind him, but we hit a duel carraige way and he floored it and pulled over and slowed, he waited till I got level and he floored it again, the funny thing was I edged ahead lol, then it was all over as a it was only a short bit of carrage way, but I bet he had a shock

My mate owes a GTR so I will post a vid of a real TTRS v GTR some time soon, I still think he will edge away, but will be intersting.

if you look at GT3 times or normal R8 times then they would be left for dead.

So a fun day all in all

I have this theory that it is designed to stop/minimise the dreaded 'disc warp'...something I have with my TT-RS Roadster after 2 trackdays.

The interesting thing though is that on my 2nd trackday it started off with the 'disc warp' issue causing terrible vibration when braking however that progressively got better (less vibration) during the day long trackday in temps of 22 Deg plus.

Am currently going to try more aggressive pads - wanted CL RC6e however that is not yet availabe for the TT-RS nor is the RC5+ am told when I enquired - so am going for Pagid RS4-2.

So I have this theory that the 'Floating Disc' which the TT-RS have as STD aids to minimise/stop vibration, am I right?

Hi there,

I have rather resently remapped my TTS with Bluefin Superchips, and I have been rather happy with the result except for one thing which I discovered this weekend on a longer trip on mostly highways.

When going at constant speed (like 55-70 mph)and the S-tronic in manual mode and in either 3. 4. or 5. gear (over 3000 rpm), and then swiftly applying full throttle - what happens is the following:

First a quick and strong pull (almost zero turbo lag) that last for a short periode (a second or two), then it feels like it is loosing a little power for just a short moment (no more than a second +/- and it still accelerate, but not as hard) and then the full power comes back. You can actually see it on the revcounter, as it starts to move rather quickly, then hesitates and then continue to move quickly again.

It feels like the turbo looses a little pressure just after the full pressure is reached?

I have not done any other modifications to the engine.

Another symphtom for this is when driving at aprox 75 mph in D-mode at constant speed and then swiftly applying full throttle (but without hitting the "down shift button" under the throttle pedal) , what happens is that it will quickly downshift to 4. gear, pull hard for a second or two, then loose a little power (feels like I am reducing the throttle input without actually doing so) - which sometimes (but not always) causes the S-tronic to shift up to 5. gear too early, before full power then comes back (just after aprox one sec).

Has anyone experienced this and know what might cause this - and have a fix for it? Could it be the dump valve that does not manage to hold on to the increased turbo pressure when it peaks?

Any suggestions are highly welcommed

At the risk of everyone getting fed up with all these TT-RS's everywhere I had to share with you my thoughts on the Revo map for the RS;
This morning I visited The Phirm (For the first time) and had the Revo stage 1 map installed. I wasn't expecting to be really blown away as the car seems fairly quick as standard, but I was hoping to get rid of two really slight hesitations as it picked up through the rev range which were starting to pi$$ me off. I think this is because the TTS I traded in has such a great power delivery, really seamless and instant pick up at all revs.
So after the map had been tested and adjusted (I think) i took it for a quick test.
It is unbelievable. Firstly the weak spots have gone and secondly all I could think was 'I need bigger brakes'. It is so strong now all the way from 1500, you think its is going to tail off but the power just builds and builds.
For me, being able to spend a few hundred on a map only and get an honest 400BHP plus on a 'standard' car is really incredible. To obtain those figures just a few years ago required a big spend and many modifications, and the RS is easily capable of coping with the power without all the spend on brakes, suspension etc..
So for once I am satisfied, the standard car is pretty good, but as many point out is it value for money? (Forget the list prices, no-one is paying that, for £52K list with options think £44-£48 max). Well with 400 odd BHP and no other mods required, my answer is it definitely is.
And now being able to use the Mag Ride without the stupid throttle response map is the icing on the cake.
Hood, I thank you for posting about the problems with the Revo map and keeping us up to date with the fix. We are lucky in the UK that no-one really has to drive that far to find a tuning company. Hat's off to you.
I had asked to have the map fitted a couple of weeks ago, but they called back and said they needed to work a fix out, then two days after Hoods's was fixed I get a call saying I could have it fitted.
It was a treat going to The Phirm as well, nice to talk cars with a genuine couple of guys who know their stuff. For someone out of modifying cars for 15 years it is all good to see loads of friendly people about sharing their experiences. Cheers everyone. (Mind you, if it wasn't for the threads from Jamie K and Johnny I doubt I'd have bought a TT-RS, so I hold you both responsible).
For anyone considering a change I have to say try one, preferably with a map.
Please Audi, keep this engine for the TT-RS!!
