Pretty much anyone can buy the tool and then buy a map from the internet for little outlay.I'm with Paul, stick to the proven mainstream guys.

Not all tuners are unprofessional and impotent. There are good solutions out there, and in many cases they will safely outperform most of the big companies' products. However, avoid the tuners that choose to download files and throw it on your car's ECU. ANY serious tuning company will perform a series of tests and changes after the initial format of the remap is on-board to ensure that certain data are within safe limits. If they can't offer this, I am not interested. This is my personal opinion.

That said, in a few words: I would choose a known tuner. Known for the good after-sale service he/she offers.
